Merhaba as we say here in Turkey, to all our faithful blog readers. Just for a change of pace, this is Christine here and I wanted to let you know that we have heard all your many requests asking for a video tour showing the current stage of construction of our new boat and home Möbius. So it is with great pleasure that we are finally able to honour your requests.
It had been a year since the last full video tour, and lots has changed for sure. Wayne just loves to talk and write – at great length – about his beloved Möbius, so one day he just took the camera and spent the next several hours walking through the boat and talking about it. That was a few weeks ago now on July 15, 2020
Wayne is far too busy working on Möbius right now to do the editing, so I took it upon myself to learn a new program (DaVinci Resolve, for those who are interested) and start my new career as the Möbius World video editor. I apologize for taking so long to get this done, but it had been a long time since I had done much video editing and the program is complex.
Also, there was A LOT of footage to take on for my first project; thanks Wayne! So I decided to divide it in half and create a two part series for you, Part I of the Exterior of Möbius and Part II of the Interior, both of which you will find below.
First, a few notes about what I’ve done to these videos so you know how best to navigate your way through these quite long videos to get at just what you want.
CHAPTERS:
For those who want to skip through and just look at the portions of the video that interest you, I’ve divided the video into chapters which you can access two ways.
- When viewing these videos on YouTube if you look in the text area below the video window, you will find a list of the Chapters in this video. Click on any of the topics in that list to jump directly to that Chapter in the video.
- When watching the video if you hover your cursor over the bottom of the video window the timeline will appear at the bottom of each video and you will see some dashes or marks along that timeline bar where each Chapter starts/ends. If you hover your cursor over any bar a pop up text will tell you the name of that Chapter and if you click it will jump directly to that point in the video.
Here is are the lists of the Chapters in each video to give you an idea of what you will find when you watch the videos by clicking on the two video windows below.

Wow, thanks for all this extremely kind and generous observations Chris. While challenging Möbius is very much a labour of love for us and what better investment can one make than in your own future and your future home? It is very gratifying to get this kind of feedback from you not “just” as such kind compliments, more so to help us know what the content we are producing and sharing is of value to people like yourself. A lot of the time is is mostly a mono directional communication without very little feedback to help guide us as to what’s working, what is resonating with people, what’s not, too little information, too much detail, etc. So thanks very much for this input and we will do our best to continue to produce more and bring you along with us right up to and beyond the Launch of XPM78-01 Möbius

man this is fun to watch … and just love the thoughts and explanations behind everything
this may be asking too much … but an equipment list would be great, winches/helmchairs/pumps/mareton/etc … actually everything ! I am so curious what the general cost is for all the “stuff” that goes inside is
Understand the request and the value it might have to you and others so I’ll do my best to get that out there Andrew. Right now we are still pulling the list together ourselves as we end up with so many different lists of equipment, so many changes along the way such that we don’t have a single accurate list yet. However we need this for ourselves going forward as well so do remind us until you see it published and we’ll get it out as soon as we can.

4 bar linkage roof ! love it
All of my bow-thrusters have had skewed props (like yours). Because they are bi-directional, the skew is crazy.
Skew is, of course to keep the water on the prop longer (which can be good…but not when turned the other direction…the back side of the props are always where there are problems). I’ve contacted Lewmar (who supplied my last one) and asked why they do that and they didn’t reply. I’ve never seen skew on the thruster of a ship (vs a yacht). There’s no reason for it, but in our size of vessel, it seems to be all that is available.
I LOVE what you do ! You are sooo knowledgeable. You guyz are great !
Hi JZ. We had a great bow thruster from AB Trak on our last boat and it had counter rotating dual bronze props so we’re not sure how this new “single screw” Vetus bow thruster will work. Those dual bronze props were certainly a challenge to clean so that reduced their efficiency so we’ll hope that perhaps being able to keep these new plastic blades cleaner will make up for any lack of efficiency of a single prop model and the skew as you mention.
We’ll let you know how this and all our other systems work once we get to the fun of doing the real world testing after launch so stay tuned for that.
